About Us
Theorem Films is a media production group dedicated to the creation of stories that seek the revelation of deep, fundamental truths about our humanity. Currently based in Boston, this group of talented media makers produces short films, narrative video, and short to feature documentaries. All formats strive to accomplish the company’s ultimate goal: to demonstrate truth. Whether through an in-depth, real portrait through documentary, a dramatic narrative, or a mythological fantasy, Theorem seeks to use the media to show situations that expose truths—unshakeable parts of what it means to be human.

Keto Shimizu began her life in the arts the moment she could hold a paintbrush in her hand. From that moment on, whether through writing, painting, comic-book making, music composition, or the all-encompassing art of film, Keto has dedicated her life to the creation and presentation of story. After spending ten years traveling the globe with an a Capella choir, she moved to Boston to attend Emerson College, pursuing an education in film production.
Now a Senior, Keto remains extremely active in both production and campus life. She is the current president of the Emerson chapter of National Broadcasting Society, the vice president of Frames Per Second, and remains active in The EVVY Awards. She also has numerous production credits--frequenting positions of assistant director, assistant camera, director, and director of photography.
Keto created Theorem for two main reasons: the first being as stated in the mission statement, “to demonstrate truth” as found in the complexities of human drama. The second is to provide an umbrella under which the Theorem Family can continue to work and grow together.
